Cat Deeley and husband Patrick Kielty, who tied the knot in 2012, have relocated their family back to Britain. Cat has opened up on her family life as well as her fears she had for her young family after Patrick and one of their sons were involved in a mall shooting.

How many children does Cat have?

Cat has two children with husband Patrick Kielty, Milo, four, and James, two.

After the birth of her eldest son Milo in 2015, Cat opened up on her newfound respect for mothers to People.

The presenter said: “I’ve got so much respect for all mums out there that do it. You have to juggle like crazy and have a team around you.

“And whether that’s your family, Mum and Dad, nanny … whoever it is, you have this team. It takes a tribe — I can totally understand that now.

“Milo is 6 months old, so he’s still really little, but I’m loving it. It’s really hard, but it’s the best thing I’ve ever done too. So it’s both.”

Cat and Patrick went on to have their second son in 2018.

At the time of his birth, Cat described Milo as the “perfect big brother”.

Talking of her children amid lockdown to Daily Mail’s You magazine, Cat spoke of how she feels lucky to be able to see her sons complete milestones.

She said: “The little one is really chattering now. If we’d all been working as per usual, I wouldn’t have seen as much of this stage as I have. I feel lucky.

“I taught Milo to read – I would get him to say all the words and break them up phonetically. It’s amazing to watch. Their little brains are like sponges.”

Cat also described her new children book called The Joy In You as “a love letter” to her sons.

Cat explained: “Like any other mum I am completely frazzled by the end of the day and can’t wait to get my pyjamas on and go to bed. I thought, “What do I want to say to them when I can’t find the words?

“The more you can talk to them about their feelings and let them know they are enough the way they are, the more they will grow into the kind of human beings you would be proud of.”

Cat also opened up on how her Milo and Patrick were involved in a mall shooting in LA.

Recalling the event Cat said: “They had been in a Shake Shack and were pushed into the kitchen.

Talking of how Patrick handled the situation, she continued: “He was like, ‘OK, Milo, let’s watch some Peppa Pig on my phone.’ The kids never get to do that normally. Peppa Pig saved the day!”
