Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 makers reveal bad news for Nintendo Switch fans

There had been rumours that Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 was going to get released in 2020, with a listing popping up online recently for a collector’s edition.

French retailer WTT – who had correctly leaked the existence of Witcher 3 for Switch previously – listed a BoTW special edition as releasing before the end of the year.

But that now seems unlikely, with Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma recently giving an update on how work on the title is progressing.

Aonuma-san appeared in a video this week announcing Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity, a new musou game made by Nintendo and Koei Tecmo based on Breath of the Wild.

As the name suggests, the upcoming Dynasty Warriors-style game will let players experience first-hand the Great Calamity that’s so often mentioned in Breath of the Wild.

And as Aonuma-san appeared to introduce the next Hyrule Warriors game the Nintendo bigwig gave an update on Zelda Breath of the Wild 2.
