China cover-up: Beijing scientist promises proof coronavirus made in Wuhan weapons lab

Doctor Li Meng-Yan has previously backed claims Beijing tried to silence anyone who attempted to raise the alarm when the virus first broke out in Wuhan last year. In December Doctor Li was tasked with looking into a cluster of virus cases that we now know to be coronavirus. She claims she discovered a cover-up operation and that the Chinese government knew about the spread of the virus before publicly acknowledging the outbreak.

She maintains she has had to flee to the US for her own safety.

She is now living at a secret location within the US.

The virologist claims she was asked to study a cluster of unknown virus cases that were coming out of Wuhan in December.

She reports that her supervisor asked her to investigate a new “SARS-like” virus coming out of Wuhan on December 31.

When she went to Wuhan Doctor Li reported to her supervisor that infections appeared to be rising exponentially there.

The response she received was that she had to “keep silent and be careful”.

Her supervisor said: “We will get in trouble and we’ll be disappeared.”

The doctor then went on to explain how the virus did not come from the wet market in Wuhan but was manmade in a virology institute in the city.

“Anyone, even if you have no biology knowledge, will be able to read it, and check and identify and verify it yourself.”

Speaking out has come at a cost to Doctor Li and her family.

She spoke of how Chinese authorities would delete, “all my information, and also they told people to spread rumours about me.

“That I’m a liar, I don’t know anything, I just killed a hamster in the lab.

“They will try to control my family and friends and then suddenly I don’t exist.”
