Morrisons extends doorstep delivery to 20,000 pensioners across the UK – how to get

The supermarket has entered a new partnership meaning it can delivery to the doorstep of more elderly people in the UK. Morrisons has partnered with McCarthy & Stone, a developer and manager of retirement communities.

The partnership will enable Morrisons to deliver groceries to over 20,000 older people.

Some of these people don’t have the technology or aren’t able to order groceries online.

Anna Lane, Local Director at Morrisons, said: “We launched our doorstep service for those who were vulnerable and shielding in the early stages of the pandemic.

“Customers have since told us it’s been a vital service and that’s why we’re extending the service to new communities such as McCarthy & Stone’s homeowners.”

David Searle, Managing Director of Services at McCarthy & Stone said: “The Morrisons doorstep delivery service allows our homeowners to independently get the groceries they need in a simple, convenient way.

“We plan to build even stronger retirement communities with the support of local Morrisons Community Champions and continue to offer a great place to live, for the life you want to live.”

Morrisons has made another major change to its supermarkets, creating 180 jobs.

Morrisons is expanding in store florists across the UK.

Customers who enjoy attractive blooms in their house will now have greater choice in many stores.

The chain is doubling the number of expert florists in stores to 180.

The bouquets will be created in store, freshly, made to order.

Across the UK there will be over 100 florists in Morrisons stores.
