Over the next two to three days, the NHC forecast Rene will move in a “motion toward the west to west-northwest”.
A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for the Cabo Verde Islands.
AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Adam Douty said: “The heaviest rain will fall along and just to the north of the storm’s track where 2-4 inches is expected, with an AccuWeather Local StormMax™ rainfall of 6 inches across the Cabo Verde Islands.”
The NHC is issuing regular advisories on Tropical Storm Rene, with the next due to be published at 5pm CVT (7pm BST).
