Lucifer season 5 part B: Has filming restarted yet? Tom Ellis updates fans

Lucifer fans loved the fifth season of the hit show when its first eight episodes landed on Netflix back in August. Now fans are desperate to know when it will be coming back and what will happen next. Lucifer Morningstar actor Tom Ellis has revealed the latest updates about filming and when it will be out.

Has filming started on Lucifer season 5 part B?

Fans of Lucifer were delighted when the show returned for the first part of its fifth season.

Eight episodes of the drama were released on Netflix back on August 21 and saw Lucifer return to Earth.

There was plenty happening in the first half of the series, which means viewers are eager for more already.

Another eight episodes of season five are on their way to Netflix but they are facing a slight delay.

This is because filming shut down on the series halfway through production on the finale of season five due to coronavirus COVID-19.

This means there is still filming to be done to complete the fifth season before viewers can watch it.

As a result, fans are anxious to know when exactly production will begin again.

Thankfully, in a conversation with the Pilot TV podcast, Ellis himself gave fans an update on timings.

He added: “With the restrictions, everyone has to take their turn to do their job.

“So it’s going to have a big knock-on effect to how much we can physically shoot in a day.”

As well as Ellis’ comments, sources have also confirmed to TV Line when filming is thought to begin again.

The publication reported how the drama will resume production on Thursday, September 24.

While Warner Brothers provided no comment on the news, fans were left excited.

When the show does return, it is expected to pick up after the dramatic episode eight finale.

Viewers will remember how this saw Lucifer and Chloe Decker (Lauren German) having a tense conversation about their feelings.

Then time was paused as Michael (Ellis) and Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) appeared to fight with Lucifer and Amenidiel (DB Woodside).

Things quickly got heated before none other than God (Dennis Haysbert) appeared to urge his children to stop with their violence.

The second half of season five is expected to pick up from his dramatic appearance in the show.

Lucifer season 5 part A is available to stream on Netflix now.
