Car recalls issued across two major car firms for almost 600,000 models due to fire risk

The decision to recommend owners move cars away from garages was “out of an abundance of caution” according to the firm.

The manufacturer will notify dealers of the issues on October 23, meaning owners could be suffering from the issue for an extra month.

Hyundai has also confirmed they are not aware that no UK or European models are affected by the recall.

“Hyundai is conducting a safety recall in North America, to address a condition with the Anti-lock Brake System (“ABS”) modules.

“The subject vehicles are equipped with ABS modules that could leak brake fluid internally and cause an electrical short over time.
