Dan Walker: BBC Breakfast host speaks out on big change to show ‘Back for the first time’

BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker, 43, has revealed “normality” is beginning to return to the show following the coronavirus lockdown. Addressing several big changes to the programme this morning, the star announced that his co-host Sally Nugent was in the studio again and that regional news was back “for the first time in five months”.

Dan and his fellow presenter Louise Minchin also had the opportunity to sit in the middle of the show’s red sofa, as social distancing rules are beginning to relax.

The star celebrated the exciting news by sharing a series of snaps of the transformed studio set-up in view of his 668,000 Twitter followers.

Dan was pictured smiling next to a happy Louise in two snaps.

Louise was then seen looking over towards Sally, who was getting ready to present from the other side of the studio.

She tweeted in view of her 112,000 followers: “So good to be back with the gang in the @BBCBreakfast studio today.”

Dan then cheekily replied: “Have you got any cake?”

To which Sally answered: “That can be arranged.”

Elsewhere, Dan was recently quizzed about his co-host Louise as a viewer expressed their “envy”.
