Olympic champion swimmer Rebecca Adlington, 31, has revealed she is expecting her second child with her boyfriend Andrew Parsons five years after welcoming her first child with her ex-husband Harry Needs.
The athlete shared the exciting news in an Instagram post today alongside an adorable photo of herself and her new beau Andrew holding up an ultrasound, while her daughter Summer smiled alongside them.
Rebecca rested her hand on her blossoming baby bump in the snap, as she posed for the camera in a pretty floral dress.
Her first child, five-year-old Summer, was pictured wearing a sweet T-shirt emblazoned with the words “promoted to big sister”.
A second photo Rebecca shared showed Summer pointing to the scan in excitement.
Rebecca had been living with both her ex Harry and Andrew during the coronavirus lockdown.
She wrote in the picture’s caption: “Andy and I are excited to announce that we’re expecting.
“Summer can’t wait, she asks everyday to check my belly to see if it’s growing. Going to be a long wait until the end of feb!”
During lockdown, Rebecca invited her ex-husband Harry back to live in her home, so it would be possible for him to spend time with his daughter.
Harry, 28, was accompanied by his friend and fellow swimmer Michael Gunning, while Rebecca’s partner Andrew also joined them in the family home from Manchester.
