Caroline Quentin: Strictly star admits concerns after signing up to show ‘Troubling me'

Caroline Quentin, 60, has admitted she has some reservations after signing up to Strictly Come Dancing 2020. The Jonathan Creek actress divulged on The One Show that although she has some dance experience from doing ballet and modern dance in her youth, she is worried about her older “knees” and her “undergarments” coping with the energetic routines on the BBC programme.

Host Alex Jones quizzed her on her dance knowledge, saying: “I have heard you have done a bit of dance before.

“I know they say that about all the Strictly contestants, but have you really got experience? Is it something you enjoyed as a youngster?

“How long did you do it for?”

Caroline explained in response: “Like most little girls I did ballet from the age of three until I was about 12.

“So I am quite scared and also quite excited.”

Caroline was joined by Jason Bell and Max George on The One Show, as they were also confirmed as part of the first three stars to officially join the Strictly 2020 line-up.

The Men Behaving Badly star admitted: “I am thrilled and terrified in equal measure to be taking part.”

American footballer also Jason shared his excitement about taking part and said he was doing the show for his daughter, 6, who he shares with his ex Nadine Coyle.

He revealed: “My 6 year-old daughter never got the chance to see me run out on the field at an NFL game but she is very excited about me taking to the dance floor. I hope I can do her proud.”

Former The Wanted singer Max became the second star from the band to sign up to Strictly after Jay McGuiness won the show in 2015.

He said: “Buzzing to be on Strictly this year.

“Not really one for the dance floor, but I take a lot of comfort in the fact that Jay McGuiness set The Wanted’s bar so low…,” the singer joked.
