Lionel Messi's father to meet Barcelona chief on Wednesday ahead of possible Man City move

Lionel Messi’s father Jorge will meet with Barcelona chief Josep Bartomeu on Wednesday in an attempt to smooth tensions between his son and the club ahead of a potentially monumental transfer to Manchester City.

Messi told club officials last week that he was planning on leaving the club after 17 years of service.

The Argentine is said to be keen on a move to Manchester City, who also want to try and finance the huge deal.

Messi refused to attend coronavirus testing at Barca’s training ground on Sunday and he didn’t show up for training on Monday morning.
