Iceland food recall: Greggs issues warning on Steak Bakes due to a serious safety risk

Those who have been shopping in Iceland have been urged to check their freezers. A pack of Greggs Steak Bakes could cause a safety risk for consumers.

“The presence of plastic makes this product unsafe to eat.”

The items could contain plastic which would cause a risk to any consumers.

Affected packs are in the size 280 grams with best before dates December 20, 2020, December 22, 2020, and December 23, 2020.

Those who have bought any of the at risk batches are being urged not to eat them.

Instead, they can be returned to the Iceland store where it was bought in exchange for a full refund.

Point-of-sale notices have also been issued to stores which give more information to customers.

The recall only affects the product sold in Iceland and not freshly baked items in Greggs branches.

The notice explained: “This two-pack product is exclusive to Iceland and therefore the recall is only applicable to products purchased from Iceland stores.”

Shoppers should return Chip Shop Curry Chicken Breast Toppers in 400 gram packs with the best before dates of February 27, 2021, March 17, 2021, and April 8, 2021.

Southern Fried Chicken Popsters packs that are 220 grams with the best before dates of April 4, 2021, could cause a health risk.

Anyone who has bought the products can return them to Iceland stores for a full refund.
