“I very nearly joined the army, but I’d always enjoyed helping on my grandparents’ allotment so I got a job working in the Devon parks, which is when I fell in love with gardening.”
Adam also spoke of his move to Devon to the Shropshire Star last year.
He explained: “I went to school in Harlow, I’m an Essex boy, but I got moved to Devon when I was 15-years-old and that didn’t go down well.
“I left school with not a lot of options. Moving a kid from the East End to Devon is not the best thing to do.
