Sophie Countess of Wessex royal first: Prince Edward's wife Good Housekeeping cover

This is the first time a royal will grace Good Housekeeping and is a first for the Countess of Wessex. Her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex, is a Patron of the NSPCC and Childline, spoke with the publication in that role.

Sophie discussed her role in the Royal Family and with the children’s charity in the publication.

She discussed taking taking over the patronage of the NSPCC from the Queen in 2016: “This was the first patronage that Her Majesty asked me to take on and I accepted the honour immediately.

“The NSPCC is one of the UK’s most well-known and respected children’s charities and its name has been familiar to me for as long as I can remember.

“I am proud that I can support the work being done to prevent child abuse and neglect, and support those who do not have adults that protect them.”

Sophie Countess of Wessex has been volunteering in person during the coronavirus lockdown.

She has assisted in a number of volunteer centres “privately, without any fanfare,” according to the Daily Mail.

Sophie has been attended a London kitchen at least once a week to make meals for hospital staff.
