When viewers last left the series, Torvi had just given birth to their son, named Ragnar after Ubbe’s dead father, the famed Viking ruler Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel).
As well as searching for signs of the boatbuilder Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård), Ubbe also came across a mysterious sailor named Othere (Ray Stevenson), who may have a spiritual connection to Athelstan (George Blagden).
Fans have been waiting with bated breath to find out if Floki is indeed alive, and whether Ubbe and Torvi will return from Iceland to defend Kattegat in its hour of need.
Meanwhile, showrunner Michael Hirst was joined by current and former cast members to discuss the series’ legacy during this year’s San Diego Comic Con.
