Massimiliano Allegri is reportedly prepared to reject advances from Paris Saint-Germain with the former Juventus boss preferring to replace Antonio Conte at Inter Milan next season.

The 53-year-old has been away from the touchline for 12 months after leaving the Old Lady last summer following a hugely successful stint in Turin, where he won Serie A five times in a row. 

Allegri is one of the most highly-sought after managerial talents currently available, and is regularly linked with posts at Europe’s top clubs when they become vacant.

And two positions that could soon become available are at PSG and Inter, with both clubs missing out on European silverware this season with the French side losing to Bayern Munich in the Champions League, while the Italians lost to Sevilla in the Europa League final. 

PSG’s appearance in Sunday’s Champions League final was the furthest they have reached in the competition. However, the club are desperate to win the tournament and may seek a change to deliver the coveted prize.

Meanwhile, Conte’s future at Inter looks very uncertain with the former Chelsea boss enduring a frosty relationship with the club’s owner, Steven Zang.

But Allegri is in line to take over from Antonio Conte as Inter boss after a tumultuous season

And according to Sky Sport Italia via Football Italia, Allegri is prepared to turn down PSG to take over as manager of the Nerazzurri next season. 

Allegri is said to get on well with Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta, and is thought to be the man to take the hotseat should Conte leave this summer. 

Following Inter’s Europa League final defeat to Sevilla last Friday, Conte cast huge doubt on his future at the club. 

‘It’s only right that we analyse the entire season, look at everything in a very calm way, and try to plan the future of Inter, whether it’s with or without me,’ he said after the game.
