Kendall and Kylie Jenner lead the arrivals as Justin and Hailey Bieber throw a house party

Social distancing measures appeared to be forgotten on Sunday evening as Justin and Hailey Bieber threw an extravagant house party at their sprawling Beverly Hills home.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner were among the star-studded arrivals at the exclusive address, where celebrity guests partied into the night despite repeated warnings from Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti regarding large social gatherings across the city.

Gatherings of any sizes that contain people from different households are prohibited under Los Angeles County’s health order for COVID-19, with Garcetti previously vowing to cut off utilities in three LA homes for hosting house parties ‘in violation of public health orders’ as California continues reel from the impact of the virus.

More than 2,000 Los Angeles residents have so far lost their lives to the highly contagious virus, from 170,000 fatalities across the United States.

But despite the ongoing threat, Kendall and Kylie were in high spirits as they climbed from their chauffeur driven vehicles and made their way inside Bieber’s 6,132-square-foot Monterey Colonial home, purchased by the singer for $8.5million.

Opting for a printed off-the-shoulder top and high slung leather trousers, Kendall, 24, drew attention to her supermodel physique as she gave onlookers the thumb’s up.

The statuesque star added to her look with a pair of stiletto heeled boots, while a tasteful handbag proved to be her only visible accessory.

In keeping with the party’s low key setting sister Kylie, 23, teamed her own off-the-shoulder top with a pair of casual boot cut jeans.

The cosmetics entrepreneur completed her look with stylish heels, while rich make-up drew further attention to her instantly recognisable features.

Other guests attending the event included Jaden Smith model Winnie Harlow, who caught the eye in a blue gym vest and matching leggings as she made her way inside the property.

With the threat of COVID-19 still palpable across Los Angeles, Winnie appeared to be the only guest wearing a mask as she rubbed shoulders with her celebrity friends.

Playing the genial host, Justin welcomed his guests with warm hugs as they settled down in an outdoor seating area, where drinks an pizza were promptly served.

The party comes amid ongoing controversy regarding the potential threat house parties pose to public health.

It’s understood that Los Angeles mayor Garcetti is looking to cutting the power to at least three massive homes for violating coronavirus-related rules against social gatherings, according to local officials.

One of the houses, located in the city’s Central Division, refused to adhere to initial warnings and received a follow-up notice on the same night.

Police would not provide an address for the home but have forwarded the address to Garcetti’s office to have the utilities shut off, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The announcement followed a huge house party that took place at a mansion on Mulholland Drive on August 3 and ended in a fatal shooting.

Police did not have a specific number of homes that had received citations or warnings, but citations were also issued at six parties in Hollywood, two in West L.A. and ones in Wilshire, Hollenbeck and the West Valley divisions.

Some question the role police should play in shutting down the parties, including a police union representing rank-and-file officers.

Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore said that they are in agreement with health officials in their determining that parties should not be occurring during the pandemic.

He added that police would continue citing those who showed a ‘blatant disregard’ for the rules.
