How 'rectangle' Kate Middleton and 'hourglass' Meghan Markle must follow strict style rule

Athletic Kate Middleton has a “rectangle” body shape, according to style expert Susie Hasler, of StyledBySusie.co.uk. Meghan Markle, on the other hand, has an hourglass frame. This means each woman has different style rules to follow – especially when it comes to their footwear.

Kate falls in the same category of TV presenter Fearne Cotton, 38, and Jennifer Aniston, 51, she claims.

Susie said: “Rectangles are slender with a lack of waist definition.

“Kate is a rectangle with slender legs and ankles, so is more suited to daintier, more feminine, footwear.”

Kate has long, slender legs. Susie advised: “If you have slender legs and you want to make them look more shapely, choose thinner soles.

“Or, if you really want to add curves to your legs, choose a patterned or darkly coloured pair.”

Susie recommended shoes like Superga and Converse for women like Kate.

Meghan, a former TV actress, has a very different body shape, according to the expert.

Susie said: “If you are an apple shape, narrow shoulders and hips, but carrying most of your bulk around the bust and tummy – such as Catherine Zeta Jones, Pink, Jennifer Hudson – chunky trainers are for you.

“The same applies for hourglass figures, perfectly balanced and in proportion, such as Holly Willoughby and Meghan Markle.”

For these body shapes Susie recommended Puma Cali, Adidas Superstars or Adidas Stan Smiths.

Funnily enough, Meghan was spotted wearing a pair of Stan Smiths at her most recent outing, handing out good for charity in LA.

Susie has discussed how Meghan dresses for her hourglass shape with Express.co.uk in the past.

She said: “Meghan always dresses well for her body shape – an hourglass – and opts for styles that accentuate her tiny waist.

The brand is now selling face masks for just £15 for adults and £12 for children, with some using beautiful Liberty prints.

Kate’s mask was the “Pepper” print, and has already sold out online after the Duchess was spotted wearing the pretty floral print mask.

Eagle-eyed royal fans have also noticed Kate Middleton’s new ring, a £8,000 “personal” ring.

the gold ring was actually first seen on the Duchess many years before she joined the Royal Family, Appraiser Prestige Pawnbrokers of Channel 4’s Posh Pawn Ailsa Russell said.

She told Express.co.uk: “Kate Middleton wears an impressive citrine cocktail ring.

“The stunning centre stone is the perfect yellow-orange colour desired in citrines, it appears to be around seven carats and is set in yellow gold.

“The Duchess of Cambridge has been seen wearing the ring as far back as 2008 making it likely to be a piece from her personal collection.”
