PS Plus September 2020: PS4 free games update as Sony fans share PlayStation predictions

The new PS Plus free games for September 2020 will be announced in the coming days by Sony. And While we can’t be sure when the news will be shared, we can predict how long the wait might be for PS4 fans. It’s hard to pin down when PS Plus September will be revealed, due to a recent change in the announcement schedule. Wednesday used to be the time we found out about these new PS Plus free games, but Sony has switched this up a little in recent months, favouring Mondays.

So we would predict the news being revealed by Sony sometime over the coming week, perhaps between July 24 and July 27, at around 4:30pm.

This will be followed by the PlayStation Plus games for next month going live on September 1, 2020.

As always, gamers will need to keep an eye on whatever Sony has planned by checking out their social media feeds regularly.

So far, there have been no leaks or hints to suggest what new free PS4 games will be arriving to replace the likes of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout and Modern Warfare 2 Remastered.

And there are so many titles to choose from that it becomes impossible to work out what might be coming next.

Depending on what Sony has planned, it could be anything from a new indie game, to a first-party exclusive.

And PS Plus subscribers are offering their own prediction for what new PS4 games will be added to the collection next month.

There’s an ongoing joke among the community that Sony only picks games that you have recently purchased for its next lineup.

This has led some PS4 owners to predict the likes of Shadow of Mordor and Firewatch as being part of the September reveal.

Others are sticking to games like Uncharted Lost Legacy, Resident Evil 7 and Assassin’s Creed titles.

One user posted a PlayStation Plus prediction including God of War and Days Gone, both of which are exclusive to the PlayStation platform.

One user writes: “Based on games I bought in the last month? Lost Legacy and God of War.

Another adds: “I would love that; actually, I got GoW out of my library in the before times and subsequently finished it twice while I had it and only need two more trophies for the plat. Every time I consider buying it to get them, I end up buying a different game because it’s hard to justify $20 for two trophies.

Speaking about the inclusion of Day Gone, one user added: “I wouldn’t even be mad that I already own that game. It gets too much hate; I want more people to try it.

“Days gone is actually pretty good. Played it a while back with no prior knowledge of anything. Last time I saw a trailer was the sawmill trailer, the game is good.

“I think it’s a fantastic game. I may be biased because I live in southern Oregon, and they did a really darn good job making it accurate. As a kid we would go to crater lake for a family vacation all the time, it was super cool seeing it as a makeshift military base. Although I will say, wizard island is not nearly that big, still cool though.”

While fans are excited about the launch of these new games, it should be noted that Fall Guys will go back to being fully priced title on September 1.
