Strictly's Aljaz Skorjanec opens up on what Janette Manrara 'hates' about their marriage

Aljaz Skorjanec, 30, is best known for being a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing, but often keeps his life with Janette Manrara, 36, on the down-low. Away from the BBC dance show and on social media, the pair share important milestones in their life and are very candid about expressing their love for one another. However, the Slovenian dancer has now opened up about how he irritates his other half with a newfound hobby he has developed during the coronavirus pandemic.

Talking about life in lockdown, the professional dancer said: “I haven’t seen so many of my friends from Slovenia since school, so we kind of connected through that game, Call Of Duty.

“We all started playing it. I used to love it back in school but I couldn’t play it since because there’s never time for it.

“It was nice to rekindle those old friendships from school and talk Slovenian for the whole day, it was lovely!”

Discussing how his wife took to him playing video games, Aljaz admitted it was something about their marriage Janette has come to “hate”.

“She was absolutely… She hates the game! She absolutely hates it! She hates it with a passion!” he told FUBAR Radio’s Access All Areas.

Only last month, Aljaz took to Instagram to share a picture of his and Janette’s wedding day in view of his 412,000 followers.

With the image showing the pair walking back down the aisle after exchanging their vows, the professional dancer wrote: “These 26280 hours have flown by…Happy anniversary @jmanrara! Three-year itch? Naaaah.”

The Strictly star’s wife also released a post of her own but shared a video of the moment her husband had spoken about.

“Happy Anniversary 3 weddings, and now 3 years! As they always say, “3rd’s a charm”!” she began in a caption for the video.

The professional dancer said: “Janette and I can’t wait to have kids but so far the life has been, pre corona obviously, been so busy that we didn’t have time to think about anything else, with tours and Strictly.

“But yes obviously, hopefully, hopefully, not obviously, hopefully in the future! But whenever, I’m going to be so happy.”

Both husband and wife are set to return to the dance floor when Strictly makes its comeback this autumn for the show’s first socially distanced season.

It seems the rumours about which celebrities could be taking part ramp up each day and one BBC Breakfast star is the latest name to be stapled to the show.

Dan Walker, 43, could be following in the footsteps of his co-star Mike Bushell, 54, who took part on the programme last year.

Coral bookmakers have the presenter’s chances of signing up at 2/1, having previously stood at 6/1 earlier this year.

Spokesperson Harry Aitkenhead said: “Dan’s a familiar face on the BBC but we think that he’ll be taking on a different challenge on our screens this autumn.

“We’ve cut the odds on him going on Strictly Come Dancing this year,” he continued, but fans will have to wait a little while longer for confirmation.

Strictly Come Dancing returns later this year on BBC One. Access All Areas airs Thursday on FUBAR Radio at 7pm.
