Meanwhile, Queen and Adam Lambert have been keeping themselves busy during lockdown.

Brian May has been sharing some micro-concerts through his social media, while Roger Taylor has given some mini-drum lessons.

The two remaining active Queen members then teamed up with Adam Lambert to remotely record a charity single in You Are The Champions.

Meanwhile, Taylor has also recorded a brand new solo single called Isolation, reflecting on the pandemic and living in lockdown.

Speaking with Express.co.uk earlier this year, the 71-year-old said: “We were in beautiful Cornwall, which is a great place to be isolated.

“We had plenty of space, but y’know like everybody else we had the same anxieties and uncertainties about what was happening.

“I started off by doing drum lessons for beginners out of my basement in Cornwall and that kept me occupied.

“And then I was sitting in my garden shed and wrote the song. It’s really a reflection of what it was like sitting in isolation.”

On his calm and smooth track, which is out now on streaming, the Queen drummer reflected: “Time’s been slowing up and you have to fill your day literally.

“You sort of devise a routine.

“It’s a really odd situation that almost everyone has found themselves in unless, of course, you happen to be a frontline NHS worker in which case it would have been a right old worry.”

To record Isolation, Taylor headed back up to his house in the Surrey hills where he “stuck it down quickly” in his home studio.

The Queen drummer plays all the instruments on the track from guitar and piano to maracas.

He said: “I’ve always liked working that way for solo stuff actually because it’s just you and your creative input.

“No arguments with anybody!”

Queen and Adam Lambert’s mystery announcement arrives 12am on Friday, August 21, 2020.
