How will Lucifer season 5 end amid filming delay?

Originally, Lucifer season five was ending on Netflix with a fifth and final season.

Filming for the last series began last year and was coming to an end in early 2020.

However, the current coronavirus pandemic put a hold on the production of television shows and films across the world in March 2020, with only some now starting to resume filming.

Speaking to Da Man Magazine, Tom Ellis revealed the filming the finale for Lucifer season remains uncomplete.

He said: “We were agonisingly close to wrapping but lockdown beat us. So, we still have 60 percent of our season five finale to shoot.”

Perhaps the delay in filming has come as a bit of a surprise, considering the show has been renewed for a sixth and final series.

The incomplete fifth season could allow for showrunners Idly Modrovich and Joe Henderson to alter the intended ending for season five.

Unfortunately for fans, this means like season four, the fifth outing of Lucifer could end on a huge cliffhanger.

“So Lucifer is totally redeemed and knows his father is proud of him (we know that’s all he wants from the God Johnson episode) and when Chloe (Lauren German) eventually dies he knows he’ll be able to be with her for eternity.

“He will have to leave Chloe on earth because of Trixie and possibly also his own child too.

“Dan (Kevin Alejandro) and Ella (Aimee Garcia) will know the truth only when they die and go to heaven too. This would be a happyish ending (technically Deckerstar is endgame), would be hopeful, and would DEFINITELY make me cry.”

Another fan seemylolface commented: “I like to think Michael is gonna turn up and be a right t** the whole season, and then it’ll end with God tossing him down to hell to rule instead and forgiving Lucifer so he can go back to the Silver City.

“I think a potential twist/angle for the finale not ending on Earth is that Chloe is going to die so Lucifer will go to the Silver City to be with her.”

A third fan rilesmiles12 said: “Everyone keeps talking about another baby between Lucifer and Chloe.

“I agree that it just wouldn’t fit with Trixie (Scarlett Estevez) and Charlie.

“But, what if Maze has a child? It would make sense, towards the end of season 4 she was “looking for something more.”

“I’m really hoping either Eve or River comes back, and she has a baby with one of them. I feel like it would be interesting to see Maze with a child.”
