Life path number: What is a life path number? How to find your life path number

Astrology fans believe that your date of birth determines your star sign, and that each sign determines your personality and other traits. Your life path number does the same thing, but comes from a calculation using the digits in your birth date.

What is a life path number?

Numerology is the belief in the divine or mystical relationship between a number and events.

Your life path number is your personal numerology, worked out by adding up the numbers of your birth date.

Your life path number is a bit like your star sign, because it is supposed to tell you about your personality and destiny.

According to Numerology.com: “This number represents who you are at your core– the person you are spending this lifetime learning to become.”

How to find your life path number

Your birth date is made up of a day, a month and a year, but it is more complicated than adding up the digits.

Numerology.com explains: “First you must reduce each of the three parts of your birthday to a single digit or Master Number, then add up THOSE digits to find your Life Path number.

“If you end up with a two-digit number that isn’t one of the Master Numbers, keep reducing it until you get to a single digit.

“In Numerology, the Master Numbers are the 11, 22, and 33, and these, along with the single digits 1-9, are the only possible Life Path numbers.”

Then, add the three numbers together and reduce them to a single digit or master number.

In this case, one plus 22 plus nine is 32.

32 isn’t a master number, so you add three and two together to get five.

A person with this birth date has the life path number 5.

Alternatively, you can use an online life path number calculator.

There are nine life path numbers, with three additional master numbers.

Once you have worked out which life path number you are, you can research what this means.

However, Express.co.uk has done some research to find out a little bit about each personality.

Life path ones are natural leaders and love their independence but tend to be quite vain and overly emotional.

Life path twos are diplomats. They are diplomatic, sensitive, tactful, and make great friends. However, these people can be super touchy and care too much about what others think.

Life path threes are artistic and love to socialise, but can tend to be flakey and leave things unfitted.

Life path four types are obsessed with planning for the future. They’re practical and adhere to social norms. These people like a small circle of friends, and aren’t team players.

Life path fives are total free spirits and often have an innate desire to find adventure and change. This can make them impulsive and reckless.

Life path sixes are extremely kind and tend to enjoy being around family. They are the person you can rely on, but can often give unsolicited advice and be too intrusive.

Life path sevens are all about what’s inside and value morals over appearance. They have a thirst for knowledge, but sometimes work far too hard and can be uptight.

Life path eights are practical and strategic, but love money maybe a little too much. They need to find a balance between hard work and being greedy.

Life path nines are humanitarians who seek to bring happiness to others, but they can be perfectionists and feel they need to fix others.

Life path 11s are motivators who everyone loves to be around, but can often be introverts.

Life path 22s are creatives whose brains are beaming with interesting ideas. However, they can be quite illogical and get stuck on appearances rather than reality.

Life paths 33s are lucky, since this is one of the most powerful master numbers. These people have a warm heart, are very generous, and have fruitful friendships. The one downside is these people may get exhausted by so much socialising and giving. Their love is unconditional.
