Coronation Street spoilers: Faye Windass in danger as she 'betrays' Geoff Metcalfe

Faye Windass (played by Ellie Leach) has been sitting on the fence about her grandfather Geoff Metcalfe’s (Ian Bartholomew) behaviour, refusing to believe he could physically and mentally abuse his wife Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King). But after witnessing him lie to the police, threaten his ex Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox) before she mysteriously disappeared and launch a nasty tirade at her step-mum Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor), the Coronation Street favourite might be about to have a change of heart.

Her dad Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) has also been defending Geoff over the claims he is to blame for Yasmeen’s attack on him.

In recent episodes, Faye told her dad that she overheard him lie to the police, which raised a few red flags.

While Sally continues to try and get Tim to see sense, he has since brushed it all under the carpet, leaving fans wondering when and who is going to be the one to bring Geoff down once and for all.

While the usual suspects have all failed so far to get justice for Yasmeen, could Geoff’s downfall be at the hands of his granddaughter Faye?

Next week, she turns on him leaving him furious that he’s lost yet another ally who was fighting his corner.

After Alya Nazir (Sair King) confronts him about Elaine’s sudden and convenient disappearance ahead of Yasmeen’s pending trial, Faye suggests he sell his share of Speed Daal to Alya.

Sally had already offered her the money to buy him out, using the funds he gave her and Tim as a wedding gift to pay for their big day.

But as the money was Yasmeen’s anyway, Sally wanted to give it back to its rightful owner.

The harrowing domestic abuse storyline has had the nation gripped for well over a year, as fans wait for it to reach its emotional conclusion, which we all hope will lead to Geoff getting banged up for a very, very long time.

And to satisfy our curiosity, Corrie producer Ian MacLeod confirmed that he will indeed meet his downfall this year.

But at the hands of who, we are yet to find out.

He previously said: “What form that comeuppance takes is still in discussion.
