Strictly Come Dancing bosses are said to be organising a tribute to Caroline Flack in a one-off special episode latest this year, sources claim. The vibrant TV presenter, who won the show in 2014 alongside professional dancer Pasha Kovalev, took her own life in February.
While BBC producers are working around the clock to pull together this year’s annual extravaganza amid the coronavirus pandemic, an insider has revealed that they are also planning to pay their respects to the Love Island host who won over the hearts of the nation with her breathtaking performances.
The source told The Sun: “Caroline was loved by all on Strictly and was a hugely popular winner among the executives and the crew.”
The tribute is expected to air during upcoming instalment Strictly: The Best Of The Final, which will fill the gap left in the TV schedule as the BBC show will run shorter series this year.
Usual hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, will take a look back at the glitz and glam over the years including Caroline’s unforgettable appearance.
They continued: “She was a bundle of energy and they thought if they were going to look at some of the best finals ever it would be fitting to feature her in a big way.

“She’s sorely missed by many, but particularly by her Strictly family.”
The bombshell made waves with her vibrant energy and killer moves and it has been reported that Pasha and fellow pro Janette Manrara will feature in the episode to look back over their time with the TV star.
One of her most prominent and well remembered dances was to to Robbie Williams’ Angels, which is still considered by many one of the best ever dances on the program.
Express.co.uk reached out to BBC for comment on The Sun’s report.
And while bosses gear up for what will be one of the most memorable year’s in the history of the show, new reports suggest they have hit yet another hurdle while trying to provide the nation with some much-needed glitz and glam amidst the devastating pandemic.
“So they’re trying to keep it cool, which is very difficult under the red-hot studio lights.”
Undoubtedly the BBC will have precautions in place to keep the contestants as safe as possible, although it is still to be revealed exactly what new rules and restrictions will be implemented.
Amid all the secrecy, the 2020 celeb line-up is also being kept under wraps, despite the rumour mill working overtime to pinpoint who might be in with a chance of appearing this year.
Good Morning Britain host Ben Shepherd was the latest celebrity to shut down claims he would be taking to the ballroom, explaining to And Peters on Lorraine: “Andi, I would love to do Strictly.
“Firstly as you know I have a degree in dance so I am obviously a good dancer. But my wife really doesn’t want me to do Strictly, I have spoken about this publicly,” he continued.
“She’s not interested in me having an affair, which seems very narrow-minded,” he joked.
“I think it would be an amazing opportunity.
“I love a bit of spangle and glamour on a Saturday night but as things stand, this is a negotiation that needs to happen between the people in my life.”
But as fans know, Ben is a very busy man and probably wouldn’t have time to don his dancing shoes anyway, especially with series 11 of Tipping Point on the way!
