After being such an enormous chart-topping star in the 1950’s, he had his last Top Ten US album in 1965 and none of his releases in the 1970s dented the Top 50.

Although the versatile singer had great success with gospel and Christmas albums and continued to tour successfully.

However, he began to fear he was no longer relevant, no longer taken seriously.

Speaking of his doubts and fears in the final months, Priscilla said: “Shows you where he was. It shows you where he emotionally was and … where in his career he thought he was.”
