Piers Morgan fires back at GMB co-star's 'large neck' jibe 'Shame you can’t borrow ratings

Piers Morgan teased his Good Morning Britain colleague Sean Fletcher in view of his 7.6 million Twitter followers yesterday. The outspoken journalist couldn’t resist mentioning viewing figures after spotting a jibe online.

Sean, 46, has been holding the fort at GMB while the 55-year-old enjoys a summer break.

And on Friday it seemed the former couldn’t resist having a cheeky dig at the father-of-four on the micro-blogging site.

He shared a photo of himself and Charlotte Hawkins behind the famous desk, while Alex Beresford was also in shot.

Sean was seen in a bright, blue suit with a red tie, while his female co-host looked chic in pink and white lace.

He captioned the upload: “Really enjoyed working with @CharlotteHawkns and @alexberesfordTV on @gmb this week.

“FYI my red tie is from @piersmorgan’s wardrobe, so it normally fits around a slightly larger neck – that’s why it kept loosening.”

Piers, who has been staying in the south of France with his family, soon responded.

“Shame you can’t borrow my much larger ratings too,” he quipped.

Two others agreed: “Stopped watching it. The other presenters are too nice,” and: “Dull as s*** without you on Piers!

“The others are so scared to voice any opinion. Also shocked at the lack of empathy shown towards the A level students this morning!”

While others were enjoying a break from Piers: “You tell him Sean! I miss Susanna [Reid], she’d be all over this schools fiasco, be brilliant, get her back with you & Charlotte!

“I miss Piers but tends to last until about 6.09am on his 1st morning back.. sure Reid will feel the same!”

Another person added: “Easily replaceable no matter how big it ego thinks it is. When 2022 comes, ITV may decide your too much of a gobs***” to renew.”

Meanwhile, it comes hours after Piers Morgan made a dash to the airport in order to return to the UK from France, ahead of the 14-day quarantine period coming into force.

From today, people arriving in the UK from France and The Netherlands will be forced to quarantine for two weeks.

Good Morning Britain continues Monday at 6am on ITV.
