NCIS star Wilmer Valderrama sends fans into meltdown with season 18 news: 'Not a drill!'

The last season on NCIS was brought to an improptu close earlier this year as CBS aired just 20 of its initial 24-episode run. As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, ‘The Arizona’ was the last episode of NCIS to air, meaning fans missed out on the highly-anticipated 400th episode as well as being left in the dark as to when production could even resume on the crime drama. However, the wait for filming is over as Wilmer Valderrama shared some exciting news on his Instagram page.

Nick’s proved himself not only to be a fan-favourite among CBS viewers in recent years, but also an integral part to Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his team.

In the most recent season, Torres pulled through a near death experience after a bone-crushing hit and run as well as cemented himself and Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham) as one of the show’s most popular pairings.

And while the likes of Jack Sloane (Maria Bello) may be leaving, Torres will be back to reunite with the team in season 18.

To get fans excited, alongside a photo of himself in character as Nick Torres, Wilmer had an announcement for his 1.8million followers.

What exactly lies ahead for Torres in season 18 is shrouded in secrecy, as are many spoilers for the upcoming episodes.

However, there are one or two details about the next series of NCIS fans do know.

Timothy McGee’s (Sean Murray) wife Delilah Harding (Margo Harshman) will be making an overdue return to screens after a season-long absense in season 17.

There’s also the departure of fan-favourite and Gibbs’ close confidant Jack Sloane to deal with.
