Piers Morgan cuts holiday short and rushes home to avoid rule change: 'Quarantine dodgers'

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan packed his bags and headed to the airport yesterday following a luxury break in St Tropez with his family. The 55-year-old presenter, who is set to return to work in September, hopped on a plane to fly home before a new quarantine rule comes into place on Saturday.

From tomorrow, people arriving in the UK from France and The Netherlands will be forced to quarantine for 14 days.

The government made the decision following a rise in new cases in the country over the past few days.

Father-of-four Piers has been documenting his enviable summer holiday in the south of France on Instagram, in view of his 1.2 million followers, and his trip home was no different.

He took to the social media site last night, to share a picture with his sons at the airport ahead of their journey home.

Last night, the presenter, who is also dad to grown-up son Stanley from his first marriage and eight-year-old daughter Elise with his wife Celia Walden, posted a picture from the plane.

He shared a stunning sunset picture from the aeroplane window as he flew over Great Britain.

“Back to Blighty.. amazing sunset,” he wrote alongside the images.

GMB co-star Richard Arnold, joked: “@joancollinsbe will be bereft,” in the comments section of the post.
