Melania Trump used a subtle trick make sure she 'stood out' from the Queen

Melania Trump, 50, and Donald Trump, 74, have travelled the world over the last few years. In 2019, the couple visited the UK and met with members of the Royal Family on two occasions.

When she met with members of the Royal Family, she opted for bright colours and chic ensembles.

The former model may have been sending a message with the outfits she picked, Gianni Casagrande of shoe brand Moda in Pelle suggested.

He told Express.co.uk: “As the old phrase goes, the clothes maketh the man.

“When it comes to Melania Trump, America’s First Lady, she is certainly sending a strong message of who she is via her sartorial choices – particularly when she meets or socialises with the Queen.”

DON’T MISS

The Queen is known for wearing bright looks and will usually opt for a block colour outfit when appearing out.

When attending the state dinner, Melania dressed in a bold yellow cape dress.

By doing this, the mother-of-one could have been making sure she stood out.

Gianni continued: “Like the Queen, Melania is a fan of bold colours and tailoring, and isn’t afraid to stand out and wear something eye-catching.

“At a state dinner during last summer’s visit she wore a bright red Givenchy gown in a favourite cut of hers – the cape.

“Cape fits are a firm fixture in Melania’s wardrobe. During the same visit to the UK in 2019 she also wore a beautiful ochre Valentino gown with pops of bright fuchsia and matching suede court pumps.”

Analysing her style since joining the White House and on her UK trips, the expert explained she is happy to make bold choices.

Melania may also have taken style tips from First Ladies who held the role before her.

He explained: “Melania’s style choices demonstrate that she isn’t someone happy to fade into the background, and that she is confident in her position.

“She is not afraid to strike a balance between elegant and sexy, always pairing any outfit with smouldering eye makeup and glamorous waves.

“Her red carpet style is reminiscent of her predecessor Michelle Obama, another fashion rule breaker favouring bright colours, exposed upper arms and other looks which raised a few eyebrows in more traditional quarters.”
