The One Show star rubbishes Strictly rumours live on air: 'No one's spoke to me!'

Angellica joined former Celebrity MasterChef star Greg Rutherford and Riyadh Khalaf to discuss their time on the BBC cooking show. However, The One Show’s Alex and Chris were more concerned with the rumours circulating that Angellica could be hitting the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor later this year. And the presenter certainly made no secret of her current position.

Alex quizzed: “We’re gonna do some rumours. Bell, tell me now, are you doing Strictly?”

Angellica didn’t mince her words as she rubbished the rumours she’d be taking part in the BBC dance contest.

“Al, I would tell you,” she began. “You’d probably know anyway if I was because we chat all the time.

“I am not doing it, nobody’s called me, no one’s spoken to me, so it’s rumours. Rumours, rumours, rumours, not doing it, no, no, no.”

However, the TV presenter did weigh in with who she would like to be paired with should she change her mind.

“But I would like to be with Johannes [Radebe] if I did it,

“Because I want to learn how to dance in heels,” she concluded.

However, not everyone in the studio was convinced with former Strictly Come Dancing star Chris weighing in.

Angellica isn’t the only celebrity who’s faced their share of speculation regarding a spot in the Strictly 2020 line-up.

The Great British Bake Off star Paul Hollywood is the latest star to have his name thrown into the hat, with odds slashed on the baker taking part.

Now at 5/2 to take part, Coral’s John Hill said: “Paul Hollywood knows all the right steps when it comes to baking a loaf, but we are likely to find out if he is comfortable on the dance floor this year on Strictly.”

Reality royalty Gemma Collins is also hotly-tipped to be competing for the Glitterball Trophy, with Coral placing her odds-on at 4/5 to hit the dancefloor.

Top Gear frontman Paddy McGuinnes is another big name tipped to compete in the socially siatnced 2020 series.

After having his odds slashed to 7/4 to take part, Coral’s Hill added: “Paddy McGuinness has just signed up to a new game show on the BBC but he could also be set to appear on one of the channel’s biggest shows, Strictly Come Dancing this year.”

Other rumoured celebrities include Martin Roberts, Jaime Laing and Jacqueline Jossa among many, many others.

The One Show continues weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
