Sergio Perez insists he was 'unlucky' to get coronavirus and miss Silverstone Grands Prix

“So the amount of precautions that we take have been already in place. [There’s] nothing really more or to do differently than what I’ve done and what we are doing already.”

Perez’s return comes at the perfect time for Racing Point as they attempt to claw their way back up the constructors’ standings.

The Silverstone-based team were docked 15 points and fined £355,000 (€400,000) last week after FIA stewards deemed their brake ducts to be a copy of Mercedes’ from 2019.

Racing Point have maintained their innocence throughout the process and are appealing the penalty, which came after a protest from Renault.

Renault and Ferrari, meanwhile, are appealing the punishment as they perceive it to have been too lenient.
