Avengers PS4 open beta, Xbox One and PC closed beta launch time, codes, dates and pre-load

The second Marvel’s Avengers beta weekend is about to begin, and this time it’s available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

This week’s Avengers beta is open to all PS4 owners, which means you no longer need a code in order to take part.

If you already have the beta installed from last week, then you can simply jump in and start playing once the servers come back online.

If this is your first time playing, you can pre-load the Marvel’s Avengers beta now ahead of its August 14 release date.

Unlike the first beta weekend, this week’s test is also open to Xbox One and PC owners.

Unfortunately, however, you’ll need to have pre-ordered a copy of the game in order to receive a code for the beta.

If you haven’t pre-ordered the game on PC and Xbox One, then you’ll have to wait for the open beta on August 21.

Alternatively, Virgin Media is giving away beta codes to its customers in the UK.

Just head over to the Virgin Media website, enter your customer details, and you should be eligible for a code on the platform of your choice.

Virgin Media customers will also receive exclusive in-game skins at launch. The outfits will be available on September 4, and Virgin Media customers have 90 days to claim the exclusive items.

If you do have a code and want to get involved the moment the game goes online, then you can pre-load the beta right now.

The second beta runs from August 14 until August 16. If it’s anything like the first beta, then expect the game to go online at around 3pm BST in the UK.

One other thing that’s worth noting is that you’ll need a Square Enix Members account to access the beta.

“Important Note: You will need a Square Enix Members account to participate in the Marvel’s Avengers BETA,” Square Enix explains.

“We use the Square Enix Members account to validate pre-order codes and content, as well as to deliver post-launch content, like new heroes, new missions, and new regions at no cost.

“We recommend that anyone planning on buying the game go ahead and register their account early, so they’re not caught in potential launch-day delays. In fact, everyone who signs up for an account will receive an exclusive Thor nameplate in the game!”

The Marvel’s Avengers beta contains single-player content from the campaign, as well as Co-op War Zone and Drop Zone missions.

It also features Hero and world progression, allowing you to try out the experience system up to Hero Level 15 and Power Level 45.
