Jack P Shepherd: Coronation Street's David Platt addresses major set moment ‘Did f*** all’

Jack P Shepherd, 32, shared a post on Instagram where he took fans behind the scenes of the 2015 Coronation Street live episode. In the snap, the David Platt actor is strapped up to an enormous camera, which he was asked to carry on his back while “trying to run”.

Jack shared with his 360,000 followers that they only managed to grab a one-second shot with the device, as a counterweight placed around the front to support him, “did “f*** all”.

He recalled: “5 years today we filmed the promo for The Live and that is the heaviest thing I’ve ever had on my back while trying to run.

“The brass thing at the front it a counter weight, which did F*** all, we only managed to get a 1 second shot that you can see when I’m running down the ginnel as the camera started to snap off and had to grab it quick.

“Luckily I did as it was worth £250,000 – what a time to be alive tho eh guys! @tinaob83 @paula_laney @seanjward.” (sic)

Kylie had rushed to the rescue when Callum attacked ex-girlfriend Sarah-Louise Platt (Tina O’Brien).

Jack has starred in the soap for 20 years after landing the role of David Platt in the year 2000, when he was only 12 years old.

On his Instagram, the star often shares throwback photos of himself throughout his years on Corrie.

Next to a recent collection of photos from his years on the programme, he typed: “Today marks my 20th year anniversary playing the role of David Platt, here’s a few photos of my life before I got the part and a few highlights of my character.

“Thank you @coronationstreet for everything.”

Jack, in a sweet snap of himself as a child wearing a Batman T-shirt, sparked fan nostalgia with a collection of David Platt’s most memorable moments from over the years.

One showed a young David with his pet bunny Barney, while others saw the son of Gail Platt with his ex-girlfriend Tina McIntyre, played by Michelle Keegan.

Also included in the tribute was his late on-screen wife Kylie, played by Paula Lane, as she lay in the funeral parlour after her tragic death back in 2016.
