What Man Utd think about Ousmane Dembele transfer after Barcelona give them information

Manchester United are suspicious of signing Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele despite being given information on the player, reports say. The France international has struggled with injuries since moving to the Nou Camp from Borussia Dortmund in 2017. And he’s been linked with the Red Devils at a time where they’re struggling to sign Jadon Sancho.

Manchester United admire Dembele for his speed, believing the France international could yet become one of the best players on the planet.

However, the France international has been constantly hit by injuries ever since moving from Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona back in the summer transfer window of 2017.

And Sport say that, while United have been given information on Dembele, they’re wary of going after the forward.

As things stand they’re struggling to sign Jadon Sancho, which has sparkled the Old Trafford hierarchy into looking for alternatives.

But, with Dembele, they’re suspicious of his injury record.

United remain linked with Dembele’s Barcelona team-mate Ansu Fati, who has caught the eye with some electrifying performances this term.

And the Red Devils have also been tipped to sign Douglas Costa from Juventus, with the forward previously admired by Sir Alex Ferguson.

Meanwhile, ESPN pundit Steve Nicol recently warned United against going after Dembele this summer.

“Is [my head shake] pretty clear? I mean, really? No, no chance,” Nicol told ESPN FC.

“Barcelona’s not giving this guy away and by the way I’m not so sure they could give him away.

“There’s questions marks over him off the field as well, that’s certainly not Man United are about now.

“They’re about certainly bringing in young players but young players with good attitudes that really do have huge potential and they think they can get it out of them.

“I don’t see that with Dembele, I think he’s going to be one of these kids who’s going to mosey along in his career and all we’re going to say is ‘what if?’, ‘he could have been’, ‘potential’ – all the things that when you get to the latter stage of your career you don’t want to be hearing about yourself.”
