Coleen Nolan's son brands comedian a 'd***' after cruel cancer joke about Linda and Anne

Loose Women panelist Coleen Nolan, 55, recently broke her silence after her sisters Linda, 61, and Anne’s, 69, devastating news that they are both battling cancer again. The trio rose to fame making up family pop-band The Nolans, alongside their other siblings Bernie, Denise, and Maureen.

Coleen’s son Shane has now hit out at comedian Mark Jones for making a cruel joke about his cancer-stricken aunts, by comparing them to the bald pop stars Right Said Fred.

The 31-year-old took to Twitter and slammed the comic for the cruel remarks.

The two sisters were both diagnosed with the disease in March, and have both since shaved their heads as they undergo chemotherapy to treat their illnesses.

In a now-deleted tweet, comedian Mark shared a shot of Anne and Linda, who currently have no hair after undergoing treatment.

He captioned the photo: “Right Said Fred looking well.”

The comic made reference to the two hairless popstars and brothers of the I’m Too Sexy hitmakers Fred and Richard Fairbrass.

In view of his 36,000 followers Shane hit back and wrote: “Imagine being one of those people who write horrible things online and think they’re funny and brave cos nobody can see or find them.

“Writing about someone’s who’s family is suffering with cancer, there really is some disgusting and vile people around. I don’t get it.”(sic)

“He’s apologised now and deleted the tweet so I won’t say anymore but I really wasn’t happy mate.”

He later went on: “Guys @mistermarkjones has apologised now. Was a stupid tweet and he feels a d**k. Let’s leave it at that. Just hope other people can learn from that #Bekind.”

Mark replied to Shane, writing: “Thank you Shane. I appreciate that hugely. I’ve tried to reply to the many people who have messaged me and apologise for my tweet. I don’t hide from my mistakes. Once again, I’m very sorry.”

It comes after Coleen broke down in tears on Loose Women yesterday, as she spoke about her sisters Anne and Linda’s cancer diagnosis.

She told the panel how “heartbreaking” and “terrible” it has been for the family.

Coleen began: “The news came after such an incredible time we had. You know with the Nolans Going Cruising.

“Then two weeks later this devastating news hit us.

“But as usual with my sisters, they just, obviously devastated but then just went for it battling it and are still battling it and nearly at the end of their chemo.

“I think Anne has one left and Linda has two.”
