Todd Grimshaw is the son of Eileen Grimshaw (played by Sue Cleaver) who has been in Coronation Street for two decades. Todd caused plenty of trouble over the years when he was in the show and all of a sudden left in 2017 as the actor behind the character was fired. So who is going to be the new face portraying Todd? Here’s everything we know so far about actor Bruno Langley’s replacement.
Todd will be returning to Coronation Street this autumn but will become the centre of some drama beforehand.
Next week, Eileen will receive a letter from her estranged son asking for money but as she is away in Thailand visiting other son Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas), tenants Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) and Sean Cotton (Antony Cotton) will be the ones to open it.
After finding out the contents of the letter, Mary and Sean are then going to break the news to Todd’s ex-boyfriend Vicar Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank).
They will then work together to try and track down Todd once and for all after he went on the run three years ago, having assaulted a police officer.

Who is playing Todd in Coronation Street?
Todd will be returning to the ITV soap but a new actor is going to be taking the place of actor Bruno Langley who originally played him.
Welsh actor Gareth Pierce has now been confirmed as Langley’s replacement as the troubled ex-solicitor.
In a statement about joining the cast of Corrie, Pierce said: “I’m thrilled to be joining such an iconic show, and to have been entrusted with taking Todd forward into some really exciting storylines.
“It’s an honour to be part of the dedicated Coronation Street team in such unprecedented times.”
Pierce will be taking over the role of Todd from actor Bruno Langley who was let go by Coronation Street in 2017.
Langley was convicted of sexually assaulting two women in a bar in Manchester and as a result was written out of the ITV soap.
Since leaving his role of 16 years, Langley has re-trained as a professional photographer.
Previously speaking of his new career, the former actor said: “I’m really happy being creative in this way.
“I’ve been taking time out to catch my breath, reassess what is important to me and to make myself a better person.”
Over the past few months, there have been hints that Todd would be making a comeback to the cobbles.
Eileen mentioned earlier this year: “Every Mother’s Day or birthday it’s the same.
“I think this will be the time I hear from him [Todd] but I never do of course.”
Ex-boyfriend Billy has also moved on and is now in a relationship with Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) but will Todd’s return cause a rift in their romance?
Coronation Street continues every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7.30pm on ITV.
