Lewis Hamilton goes in search of the eighth Silverstone pole of his career as qualifying takes place ahead of F1’s 70th Anniversary Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver started last weekend’s race in Northamptonshire at the very front of the grid after fending off team-mate Valtteri Bottas.
And he’s in good shape to do so again having topped the time sheets ahead of the Finn during Free Practice 2 and Free Practice 3.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen is eager to close the gap on the Mercedes duo, who have won all four races of the 2020 F1 season so far.
Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, meanwhile, looks to be in for another tough weekend as he edges closer to leaving the Italian giants.
