In a recent interview Captain Tom was optimistic that some of the 380,000 cards and letters he has received over the past few months might be from flirty admirers.
“We haven’t opened all the letters yet. But I haven’t had any marriage proposals – or not yet, anyway!” he joked, speaking to Radio Times.
The war veteran has been married in the past to wife Pamela, who sadly passed away in 2006 from a degenerative brain disorder.
In no doubt that the centenarian would eventually find love again, Chris joked: “It’s getting the football team when you were at school, it’s getting a little hatchback when your 18-19.”
