NCIS season 17 had to be cut short as the world went into lockdown thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. Thankfully, the crime drama will pick up from where it left off as CBS confirmed its return earlier this year. But as the series has not yet started filming again, it could be some time before NCIS makes a comeback.

NCIS’ cast has almost entirely changed since it first began in 2003 with only Agent Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon), Donald “Ducky” Mallard (David McCallum) and Agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) still in the show.
Some of NCIS’ most loved characters have gradually left the series with newcomers taking their place.
As well as the more regular faces, there have also been some semi-regular characters who fans didn’t quite take to.

Who has been the most annoying character in NCIS?
Margaret Allison Hart
Defense attorney Margaret Allison Hart (Rena Sherel Sofer) joined the team at NCIS after a divorced pair of engineers were suspected in a murder in season seven.
She left at the end of the series where it was insinuated Hart left NCIS to protect Gibbs as she had discovered a file which could have linked him to the murder of Pedro Hernandez (Thomas Rosales Jr).
Hart had grown fond of Gibbs over time as they had a flirtatious relationship and said she would stick by him if it came out.
Later on, Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) somehow got hold of the file and destroyed it.
Taking to Reddit, one fan joked: “’Meester Gibbs.’ Every time she said that, I wanted to stab her in the eye.”
Another commented: “Everybody talks about this Allison Hart being cool but I’ve skipped every episode shes been in. Not to mention the forces sexual tension she has with Gibbs just felt off and weird.”
Others also labelled Hart as “annoying”, “the worst” and “insufferable”.
Samantha Ryan
In season nine, fans were introduced to Dr Samantha Ryan (Jamie Lee Curtis) who was the head of the Department of Defense’s Psychological Operations.
She was also in a relationship with Gibbs for a short time but left with her son as she felt they were both in danger because his father was being released from prison.
“Jamie Lee Curtis’ character was the most annoying to me, even though I love her work. She was just in the damn way all the time!”, a fan said.
A second agreed: “I absolutely adore Jamie Lee Curtis but despise Dr. Samantha Ryan!
“Every episode she was on I was convinced it was going to turn out she was a double agent or something.”
A third also commented on how Ryan and Gibbs had “zero chemistry”.

Nick Torres
A current lead character in NCIS who has been accused as one of the most annoying is Agent Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama).
Torres joined the team in 2016 and remains a key part of the series today alongside Agent Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham).
While discussing annoying characters, a fan explained: “To me that honor goes to Torres.
“He’s conceited, arrogant, self-absorbed and never follows orders.
“He whines and complains about almost every assignment.
“If this show were at all true to life, he would have been fired a long time ago. “No other character has annoyed me as much as he does. I thought Abby was annoying at first, but she grew on me. I don’t see that happening with Torres.”
Agreeing a second Reddit user said: “I don’t hate him, but he’s probably my least favorite out of the new team.
“They made him too much like a Tony replacement. Like yes Bishop replaced Ziva, but they’re nothing alike.
“Torres seems too much like a knockoff Tony. And Tony was my favorite so…”
Abby Sciuto
Forensic scientist Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette) was one of the original characters in NCIS, having been in the series since the first episode.
Actress Perrette’s final instalment aired in 2018 and while she has been missed by many, there are others who felt she deserves the title of most annoying.
A fan commented:” I’ve found that even during rewatches I have to fast forward through most scenes that have a focus on her.
“Her character is childish, obnoxious and I think part of my problem is that the character is eerily similar to Pauley Perrette, who I’ve also grown to dislike.”
Another added: “Least favorite: Abby.
“Don’t get me wrong she’s quirky and that’s cool with me.
“But it seems that she makes no personal progress.
“I don’t connect with her because we don’t get to see the same level of deep, emotional scenes we get for most everyone else.”
