Kevin Hart finds himself backing Ellen Degeneres when she needs all the good press that she could get. Unfortunately for him, this didn’t go over well with many people.
After horror story after horror story has leaked about the Be Kind persona, rumors about her rude behavior and toxic work environment has kicked off a full investigation of the alleged misconduct that went down on the Warner Bros. lot.
Kevin took to social media to come to her defense in an Instagram post that read: ‘It’s crazy to see my friend go thru what she’s going thru publicly. I have known Ellen for years and I can honestly say that she’s one of the dopest people on the fucking planet. She has treated my family and my team with love and respect from day 1. The internet has become a crazy world of negativity….we are falling in love with peoples down fall. It’s honestly sad…When did we get here? I stand by the ones that I know and that I love. Looking forward to the future where we get back to loving one another….this hate shit has to stop. Hopefully it goes out of style soon….This post is not meant to disregard the feelings of others and their experiences….It’s simply to show what my experiences have been with my friend. Love you for life Ellen.’
Shortly thereafter, many criticized the comedian for making what they feel is tone-deaf comments because of his close relationship with the talk show host. Many brought up the scandal in which Kevin was ousted from the Oscars because of the way he handled old tweets about the LGBT community.
Ellen, was one of the only major network stars to give him an interview to speak his piece and stand up for him at the same time.
People also brought up the same point they made when they criticized Katy Perry for speaking nothing but good words about Ellen — of course she’s nice to other famous people.
Hart was sick of the backlash and decided to address it via social media. He complained about the things being said and phone calls being made to him about his post.
He went on to say that regardless of anything, Ellen is his friend first which is why he will be there for her during this trying time.
He then addressed critics who questioned where he was for Nick Cannon’s recent scandal where he came under hot water for spewing anti-Semitic ideals and somehow managed to make it worse by apologizing.
Little did the public know, Nick was at Kevin’s house nearly every day as the fallout happened. He also revealed that he was making phone calls to networks and media companies trying to assist his fallen friend.
