Tesco and Morrisons cafes cut price of food and drink by 50 percent – full menu included

Morrisons has slashed prices in “the majority” of cafés by 50 percent throughout the month of August. Tesco will also offer half price food and drink on certain days each week. Many restaurants and cafés will cut prices this month as part of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

Morrisons café discount

The supermarket giant is participating in Eat Out to Help Out so customers will be able to save.

While the deal is usually only valid at the beginning of the week, Morrisons will offer the discount every day in August.

A post on Twitter said: “Calling all Cafe fans, we’ve got some great news.

“You can now enjoy 50 percent off our entire Morrisons Cafe Menu, all day, everyday. Now that’s a bargain!”

DON’T MISS

The statement confirmed the deal will be covered by the government scheme on Monday to Wednesday, and Morrisons will foot the bill the rest of the week.

The price cuts will be across the entire menu, with a fish and chip supper costing just £2.12.

Afternoon Tea for Two will be set at £5 and shoppers can pick up a bacon butty for £1.

Tesco café discounts

Tesco has announced it will not take part in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

However, it will match the discounts this month and has launched its own version.

Customers in Tesco cafés will get 50 percent off everything which can be used whether they are dining in or taking away.

Like the government offer, this will be available on Monday to Wednesday.

However, there is no minimum spend which means Tesco shoppers could get huge savings.

The price of a full English breakfast has dropped to just £2.07 and a children’s meal can be picked up for £1.42.

Drinks are also included in the deal with a coffee costing as little as 75p.

Tesco café managing director Adam Martin said: “We know that the past few months have been tough for lots of people in our local communities.

“We believe everyone deserves freshly cooked, top quality, great value meals, and a break from cooking at home.

“We look forward to welcoming old friends and new faces back to the café – we can’t wait to serve you again.”

Customers wanting to take advantage of the deals will need to do so before the end of August.
