Call of Duty Warzone Season 5: When is Warzone Season 5 coming out, Season 4 ending?

Activision has revealed more on its plans to launch Call of Duty Warzone Season 5 this week on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Plenty of other changes are being planned for Modern Warfare multiplayer mode, include new weapons, skins and maps.

But the shake up coming to COD Warzone is expected to be the highlight for many Battle Pass owners.

Call of Duty Season 5 is set to open the stadium up to combat, as well as introduce loot trains to the Verdansk Warzone.

And with this big update coming so soon, it means there is only a short time left before Warzone Season 4 ends across all platforms.

WHEN IS CALL OF DUTY WARZONE SEASON 5 COMING OUT?

As confirmed by Activision earlier this week, Call of Duty Warzone Season 5 will be going live on August 5, 2020, alongside the Modern Warfare patch.

Developers Infinity Ward has warned it will be a big download but the good news it will decrease the overall size of the game files on your console.

The Call of Duty Warzone Season 5 release date has been set for August 5 but there’s a good chance the new update will go live at 11pm PT, on August 4, in the United States.

For gamers in the UK, that will mean Modern Warfare Season 5 kicking off at around 7am BST the following day.

A new Call of Duty trailer has been released, showcasing new modes, map changes, and the launch of the new loot train around the Verdansk map.

But detailed patch notes are also expected to be shared on August 4, alongside news concerning the new Season 5 Battle Pass.

This is expected to include new blueprints and more outfits and skins to unlock for your character, guns and vehicles.

WHEN IS CALL OF DUTY WARZONE SEASON 4 ENDING?

The official Call of Duty Warzone Season 4 end date has been set for August 4, 2020.

The official end time can be found on the Warzone Battle Pass screen and lists 6pm BST as the completion period.

This means that Activision will be able to release Warzone Season 5 at any point past this time on August 4.

As ever, players can spend cash on the current Call of Duty Store items before they are removed, although new ones are expected on August 5.

Additionally, Activision provides times in which Tiers can be purchased towards the final stage of completion.

There is also the Call of Duty Modern Warfare Battle Pass Edition, which is expected to return as a revamped version for Season 5.

This also means that some Season 4 Challenges will also be disappearing and COD fans may want to look at how to unlock items like the Akimbo Pistols.

A guide to take on this challenge can be found below, courtesy of Activision:

“In order to get Akimbo for a specific handgun, you are tasked with getting three kills with that handgun equipped with a specific weapon perk in five separate games (i.e. “Get 3 kills in 5 different matches using the Frangible-Wounding perk with the M19”).

“Here are some general tips for unlocking Akimbo with every handgun quickly: “Danger Close. For handguns like the M19, their ammunition type is meant to provide low recoil, high fire rate experience.

“These characteristics are more beneficial in closer firefights, where you can potentially outclass a long-range weapon with a handgun.

“Keep Your Distance. As for handguns with more powerful ammunition, such as the .357, they are more effective when used for accuracy. Be patient with your shots and stay on target to get the most out of these secondary weapons.

“Blueprint weapon perks. Some Blueprint weapons have the weapon perk needed to complete each handgun’s Akimbo challenge. For example, the Pixie Cutter from the Valentine’s ‘Slay Bundle’ has the FMJ perk needed for that weapon’s Akimbo unlock criteria.”
