Lewis Hamilton will be hoping for a happy homecoming as the world championship leader looks to keep up his fine form at the British Grand Prix as the six-time world champion bids for pole position.

The 35-year-old put a disappointing fourth-place finish at the season opener in Austria behind him to seal back-to-back first-place finishes to put the Mercedes driver in a commanding position from the outset.

Hamilton was beaten to top spot by Max Verstappen and Alex Albon in yesterday’s two practice sessions respectively, and will be looking to wrestle pole from his rivals in qualifying today. He’s got a great record at Silverstone, having won the British Grand Prix six times.
