Steph McGovern admits ‘mistake’ to BBC Breakfast star Carol Kirkwood in shock revelation

Former BBC Breakfast host Steph McGovern, 38, has admitted to making a “mistake” after weather presenter Carol Kirkwood, 58, informed her 185,000 Twitter followers about her productive morning in the sun. The meteorologist explained she had already put her first load of washing out on the line this morning to make the most of the warm weather today.

Carol wrote: “First load of washing already on the line…

“Second not far away (you can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl!)…. and I know it will be dry in no time #happydays xxx.”

Shortly afterwards, the star added: “Second load of washing just finished! I am off to hang it out! Have a fab day and take good care xxx.”

The BBC favourite’s tweets prompted her former co-star Steph to admit she made the error of putting out her washing two days ago and neglecting to bring it back in.

She candidly replied: “I made the mistake of putting it out two days ago.

“It’s still out. Hoping it finally dries today.”

Unfortunately, Steph shortly found out her “mistake” was more serious than she previously realised, as another Twitter user warned her not to leave washing out “for days”.

They wrote back: “You can’t leave it out for days, if it stays even damp clouds of pollen will adhere in the weave and you become a walking allergy cloud once it dries out.”

A third fan commented: “So I’m not the only non-student who does this?”

Elsewhere, Steph updated fans on her eight-month-old daughter, who she welcomed with her partner in November.

The TV star opened up to her Twitter followers, as she shared a new milestone with the little one.

However, the business correspondent admitted she made a minor error, after taking the couple’s baby to her swimming class.
