Shirley Ballas: Strictly host opens up on coronavirus fears during BAFTA TV Awards speech

Shirley Ballas spoke candidly about her health after the head judge scooped the win for Best Entertainment for Strictly Come Dancing at the BAFTA TV Awards 2020. The small-screen star suffered a broken foot earlier this month and has now talked about her coronavirus fears.

The 59-year-old explained she suffered a “temperature” and made the decision to get tested for Covid-19.

Shirley said: “This week, I haven’t been doing anything. I broke my foot so that’s healing.

“I haven’t been so well these last few days and I had a temperature. I was coughing.”

The Strictly judge went on: “So I just took the Covid-19 test today. I have to wait 24 hours [for the results] but I’m at home alone.”
