Leeds are making a last-ditch move to snatch Reading youngster Danny Loader from under Crystal Palace and Porto’s noses.

Sportsmail understands director of football Victor Orta has personally targeted the 19-year-old as a key signing ahead of Leeds’ return to the Premier League and has launched an attempt to complete a deal.

The 19-year-old is in advanced talks over a free transfer to Porto giants ahead of the new season, while Palace also have a concrete interest.

Porto are willing to offer Loader a three-year deal, worth close to £1million a season.

But Leeds’ late interest could scupper Porto and Palace’s plans for Loader.

Reading would not be due any compensation if Loader joins Porto because it would be an international transfer.

Loader has made 35 appearances for Reading since making his senior debut in 2017.
