England’s one-day contingent have got off to an absolute flyer against Ireland, taking five wickets for the loss of just 28 runs at the Ageas Bowl.
David Willey opened the bowling for England in his first international appearance since making way in the World Cup squad for Jofra Archer and the left-arm seamer made a breakthrough within four balls.
Paul Stirling was the Ireland opener to depart for two, miscuing a full and in-swinging delivery to Morgan at short midwicket.

Willey took four wickets early on, including Andrew Balbernie who was caught behind
Willey had a second wicket with just his seventh delivery, the left-armer getting a delivery to hold its line as Ireland captain Andrew Balbirnie’s wild slash took a faint nick before being caught behind.
Gareth Delany had watched both wickets fall from the other end but he responded with three successive fours off Saqib Mahmood, albeit the first of which flew through just wide of a diving Jason Roy at second slip.

Ireland were three down in the sixth over, Mahmood getting in the wickets column when Tector, who made a pair of half-centuries in Ireland’s two warm-ups, inside edged onto his stumps to depart for a nine-ball duck.
Willey was already enjoying his comeback and his day took another turn for the better when Delany slapped to backward point before Lorcan Tucker was trapped lbw – overturned on review – off the next ball.
Campher came to the crease for the first time in international cricket facing a hat-trick ball, which he survived, but Ireland were staring down the barrel on 28 for five.
