Piers Morgan hits out at Johnny Depp and Amber Heard: 'Made my skin crawl'

Actor Johnny Depp, 57, took The Sun’s publisher News Group Newspapers (NGN) to court over a 2018 article which labelled him a “wife beater”. The Pirates of The Caribbean star and his ex-wife Amber Heard, 34, both shared their version of events in court with their legal teams.

Many personal details and pictures from both parties were shared in court and the judge’s ruling will be heard at a later date.

Johnny has denied all claims that he was ever violent to Amber, who he split with in 2017 after two years.

Amber has also denied she was violent towards her ex-husband and insisted she would “try to defend” herself when he “got serious”.

The former couple have been back and forth in court in the past month. The case came to a close yesterday.

Piers Morgan discussed the pair’s trial in his recent column with the Daily Mail online.

He said: “I think we’ve all consumed enough lurid, gruesome details from the case over the past 16 days to reach our own verdicts on the movie star and his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard.

“Even by Hollywood standards, it has revealed a shocking litany of allegations,” the Good Morning Britains star added.

The presenter went on to address some of the claims which were heard from both parties in court.

During her speech, she was booed by some Johnny Depp fans.

She was later seen laughing and joking with a group of friends.

Upon Johnny’s exit from court, he was cheered by some of his fans.

Addressing this, Piers added: “All of this, given what we learned in the trial, made my skin crawl.”
