Sebastian Vettel targets seat next to Max Verstappen at Red Bull as Ferrari F1 exit looms

Team investor Lawrence Stroll’s injection of cash into Aston Martin will see Racing Point carry the British car manufacturer’s name from next season.

And, with Stroll eager to build a team truly capable of competing for podiums and race wins, Vettel is a prime candidate for a drive.

Stroll is, at this stage, thought to be unlikely to show the door to his son Lance and that means Sergio Perez is in danger of being axed.

Perez, who has been with Racing Point since their days as Force India, is on a long-term contract, is a wily racer and brings plenty of financial backing to the table.

Vettel might prove too hard to resist for Stroll, however, given his proven prowess in F1 and the potential for him to help nurture the Canadian billionaire’s son’s talents.
